#NEVEROK
Brighton Students’ Union and The University of Brighton are committed to upholding a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for everyone in our community, and we are all collectively responsible for this aim. We believe that any form of harassment, abuse, sexual misconduct, or discrimination is #NeverOK.
Students and staff have a right to always be treated with dignity and respect, and we take a zero-tolerance approach to any behaviour that contradicts our values. We have adopted a host of measures and initiatives, which uphold our commitment to achieving this critical objective and address any incidents that occur through a whole-university approach.
We all have a role to play in furthering this work, so you will also see an overview of how we plan to liberate the talent of staff and students, to ensure everyone has the skills they need to succeed in a healthy and inclusive place to work and study.
This also extends into the night-time economy where we regularly liaise on any reports that come in regarding our student nights and clubs. It is vital that our students feel safe whilst out in our local affiliated venues.
On this page you will find information on how the University is putting staff and students at the heart of their strategy in this area:

No, membership of the BSU is totally FREE but you might need to pay for some events or activities throughout the year depending on how you choose to get involved
Most of the events happening at our SU bar, The Venue, will be free of charge and you will not need to purchase a ticket prior. However, nightclub events listed on here are ticketed and you must purchase them before the event. Please be aware that there are people trying to sell “official” Freshers’ wristbands to Brighton students. These wristbands are NOT official and often provide very little for a high price. BSU do not endorse any of these wristbands.
When you go to book a ticket you will be prompted to create an account. Login with your university or personal email and create a Native account. Once activated you will be able to log in and purchase as many tickets that you wish to attend.
Make sure you keep the ticket and QR code as you will need the QR code to get into the venue. You can add to your Apple wallet, print it out or just have it ready when attending the event as it will be scanned on the door of the event.
Yes, you will be able to buy tickets on the door but they will be much more expensive and the event could be sold out so make you buy them early!
