Varsity Series Ticket Sales Info 2022

Ticket Terms and Conditions

Key info for players and spectators:

  1. This is a no alcohol event
  2. All spectators and players will be bag searched upon entry to the site
  3. You must be a Sussex or Brighton student to attend this event
  4. Spectators will be required to bring proof of ticket purchase and photo ID to gain access to the site
  5. Spectators can arrive 15 minutes prior to the advertised event start times
  6. Players will be required to bring photo university ID
  7. Security and event staff reserve the right to refuse entry to any spectators or players who break any of the rules stated above or that appear on the ticket code of conduct/ T&Cs. (listed below)
     

Transport & Parking:

The University of Brighton is serviced by Falmer train station and via bus routes.

Participants can park in the lower car park on the Falmer site after 5pm on weekdays or after 12pm on a Wednesday afternoon. Parking at all other times will require the attendee purchasing a ticket as per campus parking regulations

Code of conduct:

This code of conduct relates to both Sussex and Brighton students both spectators & players.

 What do we expect?

  1. Varsity 2022 is a competitive event, but it is still expected that all spectators uphold respect for players from both teams, match officials, security staff, university/union staff and their fellow supporters at all times.
  2. All spectators are representatives of their club, Students’ Union and University and should behave in a manner befitting this before, during and after the Varsity events.
  3. It is a privilege for Sports teams and spectators to attend and play in Varsity and the events should be treated as such. Varsity has a significant cost and administrative effort for both student union’s & Universities and will not be held again unless this runs smoothly.

What behaviour will not be tolerated?

A policy of zero tolerance will be applied to all Varsity events. As such, the following will not be tolerated:

  1. Arriving at an event drunk or otherwise intoxicated.
  2. Abusing, threatening or intimidating any player, spectator, match official, coach or any other participant, whether before, during or after the event.
  3. Failure to comply with anything an event official, SU staff or steward/security asks.
  4. Showing unnecessary or obvious dissension, displeasure or disapproval towards any person at the event.
  5. Using crude or abusive language or gestures towards any person present at the event.
  6. Conducting yourselves in any manner, or engage in any activity, whether before, during or after the event that would impair the reputation of your Club, Students' Union, University or university sport in general.
  7. Behaving in a manner which could cause distress, alarm or harm to another.
  8. Any spectator that pitch invades before, during or after the event will not be tolerated.
  9. Bringing any alcohol, drugs, flares & other restricted items into the event.
  10. Using social media to offend, abuse, threaten or intimidate any player, spectator, match official, coach or any other participant, whether before, during or after the event.
  11. Acting in an unlawful manner.

Alcohol

  1. You will not be granted entry if you arrive at an event drunk or otherwise intoxicated and will be asked to leave the premise immediately.
  2. No alcohol is to be brought into any venues and will be confiscated.
  3. We reserve the right to search your person and belongings at each event; search is a condition of entry.

What happens if this code is breached?

  1. You will be removed from the venue immediately.
  2. You will not be allowed to attend any further Varsity events.
  3. You will be referred to your Students’ Unions disciplinary code and may result in sanctions being placed against you and/or the club, including expulsion from the Union and the cessation of any rights of membership thereof.
  4. You may also be referred to your university’s disciplinary procedures. The University may charge you with a breach of its code of conduct which may result in sanctions being placed against you, including expulsion from university.

Please also note:

  1. We reserve the right to amend or implement new regulations throughout the Varsity programme and for different fixtures.
  2. We reserve the right to cancel Varsity at any point if problems are being experienced.
  3. We have made it clear to all players that any incidents of concern this year (including any caused by any spectators) may well result in the termination of any future Varsity.

Ticket Sales Terms and Conditions

  1. Only 1 ticket per student per event can be purchased
  2. Tickets are available for purchase on a first come first served basis
  3. Tickets will go off sale for each event at 4pm the day before the event, if the event takes place at the weekend they will go off sale at 4pm on the Friday before
  4. Tickets are non-transferrable
  5. Refunds are available in advance of the event and must be received by the Students' Union at least 3 hours before the event is due to start. Refund requests after this point will not be awarded. To request a refund email helloBSU@brighton.ac.uk.
  6. Tickets will be refunded if fixture is cancelled

Covid Measures

  1. We encourage all players and spectators to take a lateral flow test within the 48 hours of the event. Lateral flow tests are free to collect from both Falmer and Eastbourne Sports Centres.
  2. If you have tested positive for covid-19, please do not attend this event. Please contact your Students’ Union for a refund (please see Ticket sales T&C’s above).
  3. NHS Test and Trace QR codes will be available to scan using the NHS Covid-19 App.
