Details
We are currently looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to work primarily at our Falmer campus in Brighton. The Students’ Union covers all University of Brighton sites and travel to other campus locations will be required.
The Role
To create and develop high quality design work to effectively promote BSU activities and services to its members, for use across all media platforms including digital and print. This position will also be supporting the Union to continue the roll out of the new BSU brand and further develop our visual identity.
The Skills
Applicants will need to be able to demonstrate their knowledge and experience of:-
- Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Producing high quality design work across digital and print communication platforms.
- An awareness of new and current trends in the industry.
- Following brand guidelines and meeting briefs provided by staff and officers.
- Researching and preparing materials in support of new design concepts.
- An understanding of the needs and expectations of students and potential audiences.
- Relevant qualification at degree level and/or extensive related experience.
The Person
Alongside experience of working in a similar role, preferably within a Students’ Union environment, the successful candidate will need to have high level of enthusiasm, self-motivation and initiative and have an understanding of the potential of what can be achieved through working with student groups. They will need to have integrity, creativity and diplomacy and be committed and dedicated to providing an excellent service to our students.
The Hours
This a permanent part-time position and the normal days of work will be between Monday and Friday but flexibility will be required as some weekend/evening working will be needed.
