If the person(s) that are abusing you are a University of Brighton student or member of staff we can advise you of how to formally report this to the University.

We can also help you make a disclosure to the Disclosure Response Team. You can read more about this here. Using the disclosure team prompts the Disclosure Response Team to provide you with further support. Contacting the Disclosure Response Team does not start a formal report or complaint to the university authorities. They will take you through your options so that you can make an informed decision.

We can also signpost you to support services if you would like to access them.

We will document what you have told us and provide a copy of this to you for your records. However, in some cases where we are seriously concerned that you (or another University of Brighton student) are in serious and imminent danger of harm we may need to breach your confidentiality.

We will always try to obtain your consent, but ultimately this may mean reporting our concerns to the University, or, in an emergency, to the emergency services.
