Here's a look at our August officer updates:

“During August, I attended the Southern Union Conference. I gathered information and took notes on different practices in different unions, with the aim of making our students' lives better. I attended various meetings to plan our Early Freshers’ Fair and our big Freshers’ Fair in September. I met with key people in the university to talk about ways we can make students’ academic experience better and much easier. I was present at additional consideration panels to observe that there are fair processes for students. I also talked about what the students' union is at various Belong at Brighton sessions for incoming new students”

“This month, I was a part of the final day of the graduation ceremonies for our last set of students, graduating on 1st of August. I attended the Southern Union Conference, which brought together about twenty student unions (staff excluded) and participated and discussed ideas. I attended the APPOG meeting in which several members of senior staff participated in. Additionally, I with the other officers came together and compiled a shortlist of our campaigns that we intend to achieve this year”

“August was an exciting month. As a team, we locked in our main campaigns for the year, which felt like a big win, and we also divided up tasks to make sure we’re all set for the year ahead. A major highlight for me was attending the Southern Union Conference at Surrey Students’ Union. It was a fantastic event where I got to hear inspiring talks, network with fellow officers, hear their stories, and see how they’re making a difference at their unions. Last but certainly not least, we put the finishing touches on our plans for Freshers’ Week. We’ve worked hard to make it the best yet, and I can’t wait for everyone to experience it!”

“This month started off by attending the last of the summer graduation ceremonies! As for the rest of August, I participated in campaign planning after going to the Southern Union Conference. Here we learnt new ideas on how to improve student life at university. In the run up to September, I contributed to the planning of Freshers’ Fair and Welcome Week whilst also attending the Clearing Open Day”
