We have strict contracts in place concerning how we work with third parties. In some cases, these parties may be used to carry out services on behalf of BSU. We will not share your personal information for marketing or other purposes without your consent.
In some cases, we may be required to provide your detail or information to authorities such as the University of Brighton, Police or the Local Authority. In this instance, your data will be dealt with according to their legal and goverance procedures.

How do you receive my data?
When you enrol with the University of Brighton, you are automatically a member of Brighton Students' Union. During the enrolment process, you are asked whether you 'opt-in' to be part of BSU. When you opt-in, you agree to University of Brighton sharing your personal data with us in order for us to provide you with activities and services during your time at Brighton.
What data do you receive?
We receive data relating to your being a student at Brighton, including your student I.D, student email address, study site and course details. We receive demographic information about you, including your age, gender and nationality. We also receive personal information, including your address and phone number. The full data set we receive is outlined in the Data Protection Agreement between BSU and University of Brighton . The data held is that you gave the University of Brighton upon registration. If you wish to alter your registration details you must contact the University. BSU cannot be held responsible for any inaccurate personal details.
