Our jobs are mainly based on campus, so we can fit around your timetable.

We are recruiting for Student Voice Leaders (SVL) to start in October 2026.

Undergraduate courses only! Post Graduate SVL’s will be recruited in August/September 2026.

The role is to act as a paid student partner within your academic school and across the University, working with staff to help act on and improve feedback and improve the student experience. This role is focused on analysing student feedback, contributing to School level discussions, co-creating solutions and closing the loop by communicating changes back to students. These roles are only open to students at University of Brighton and please check the advert details for what courses you must be studying to apply.

FAQS

What jobs do you offer students?

We provide job opportunities across all our different departments, so you can work in our shops and bars as well as gain experience in some of our internal departments such as marketing and finance.

How much do you pay?

We pay a minimum of £12.21 per hour, plus holiday pay if you work for more than a term at a time

How often do I have to work?

You can normally work a maximum of 16 hours per week during term time – this ensures your part-time work does not impact on your studies.

How can I apply?

Check out the jobs we have available above if you’re interested, complete an application form and we’ll get back to you. Remember we only keep applications forms for 6 months due to data protection, so if you might need to complete a new application even if you’ve previously applied to work for us.

I’m here on a student working visa – can I work for you?

Yes – depending on the terms of your visa. We’ll need to see a copy of your passport and visa, so we can check. Your visa must be valid for at least 3 months from the date of your employment. You can find more information on the Government’s Visa and Immigration webpages.

Do I need to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK?

Yes – all UK employers must check the eligibility of their employees. We will need to see a copy of your passport or birth certificate. If you are from outside either the EEA (European Economic Area) or Switzerland, we will need to see a copy of your current visa. All visas and passports must be valid for at least 3 months at the date we employ you, unless you are a British passport holder, in which case an expired passport is permitted. Do you employ non-students?

Our student staff roles are only available to current University of Brighton students. We have established staff positions available, which you can find on our careers page  here.
