This year's full-time officers are focusing on four primary campaigns:
Belonging - but do you feel it?
Every student should be able to shine personally, socially, and academically. It's as simple as that. A vibrant campus community is crucial for student success. Without a dynamic and welcoming community, students may feel isolated and disconnected, negatively affecting their academic performance, personal development, and overall university experience.
This year, we strive to improve and further solidify the aspect of the community.
Support with Cost of Living - are you worried about your finances?
Every student should have the financial security to focus on their education without the stress of making ends meet.
The ongoing cost-of-living crisis continues to place tremendous pressure on students. Rising costs are forcing difficult choices, with many students cutting back on essentials like heating and eating, which undermines their academic success and overall well-being.
This year, we shall work towards elevating and supporting students with the cost of living.
Budget Bites
"As part of our 'Support with Living Cost' Campaign, we made this book to provide quick and simple recipes that can be made with items around the kitchen and from BSU Essentials. You shouldn't have to go skint on takeaways when amazing easy meals are just waiting to be created in the kitchen. We hope you have as much fun cooking as we did making this! Happy Cooking And Even Happier Eating!"

Diversity and Inclusion- do you feel seen and included?
As a student, you should feel that your cultural identity is seen and celebrated on campus. Students should be given the knowledge and opportunities to maintain positive mental well-being throughout their university experience, with high-quality support in place when needed.
All students, including those with disabilities, should be able to easily access every campus area and feel confident in meeting new people and accessing services. Sadly, this isn't always the case. Students from diverse cultural backgrounds feel alienated on campus due to insufficient representation and celebration of their cultures.
This year, we shall work to increase support and visibility. We intend to work alongside students to understand better the needs that need to be delivered.
Education - focusing on the quality of your education
All students should have an educational experience that prepares them for their future careers and supports their academic success. However, many assessment methods currently used do not reflect the skills required for students' careers. Exam and assignment schedules often prioritise convenience over student success and well-being.
This year, we shall work towards supporting students with assignments, assessments, exams, and more. We want our work to provide lasting positive change and further student education.
